Performance Comparison of Induction Motor and Synchronous Reluctance Motor for Pump Application in Simcenter Speed

Synchronous reluctance motors work on the principle of utilizing the reluctance torque which has been known for a long time, due to the recent advancement of Variable Speed Drives and power electronics it became possible to exploit these super-efficient electrical machines completely.

In SynRMs, the rotor is designed to produce the smallest possible magnetic reluctance (the resistance to the flow of a magnetic field) in one direction and the highest in the direction perpendicular. The rotor turns at the same frequency as the stator field (as in the PM motor).

In this paper we have Compared Induction Motor and Synchronous Reluctance Motor for Pump Application using Simcenter Speed.
